Permanent (4 vacancies) Ref: F1029 The Revenues and Benefits Service provides the statutory functions of collecting Council Tax and Business Rates, alongside administering applications for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support. Following a review of the Service, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Revenues and Benefits Team.&nbsp; The Council are seeking four customer focused individuals who will be able to help us deliver the Service in a new way by working across all the areas that we deliver to residents. You will have good written and verbal communication skills and should be&nbsp; able to communicate with a wide range of people.&nbsp; You should have patience with customers and good listening skills that can be used to resolve residents’ queries. You will have the ability to complete tasks in a pressurised environment and work with little supervision. You will be required to work on a wide range of tasks including the processing of Housing Benefit applications, Council Tax Support applications and the collection of Council Tax and Business Rates. In return, the Service will offer full training, access to flexible working (including hybrid working) and the opportunity to study for professional qualifications in Revenues and Benefits with the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation. While previous experience in a similar role is desirable, we welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills and a strong willingness to learn. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a successful Health and Safety Team. Reporting to the Corporate and Schools Health and Safety Manager the role will require the planning and undertaking of audits, monitoring and inspection to ensure that statutory obligations are met; risks are managed; and good practice is promoted through service health and safety policies, strategies, principles of prevention and risk management. 
As an adviser you will be resilient, highly motivated and well organised, and able to communicate and influence people at all levels. 
You will require: 
A NEBOSH National General Certificate or higher as a minimum qualification. A good knowledge of current and proposed health and safety legislation and codes of practice and the ability to interpret legislation practically, together with: 
Knowledge and experience of: 
 
 - Pro-active health and safety management 
 - Advising on health &amp; safety issues 
 - Premises safety or facilities management 
 - Occupational Health and/or Environmental Health issues
