Can you undertake research, write for a professional audience and present the findings?</p>\n<p>APSE Energy is a not for profit, Local Government Energy and Climate network, currently seeking to appoint a research and project officer to boost the work of APSE Energy, expand the membership and offer support to help councils move forward with the energy and climate change agenda.</p>\n<p>APSE Energy works with Local Councils (members) throughout the UK sharing information and networking to assist Councils with the climate and energy agenda.</p>\n<p>The successful candidate will assist in the creation and sharing of briefing papers, research, publications, events programmes, newsletters and marketing strategy, with a specific responsibility for monitoring and researching developments in the energy and climate change sectors which are of relevance to local government. They will work to meet the needs of the membership.</p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the main challenges in the climate change and energy agendas and have experience of research in an associated field. Training and development will be provided.</p>\n<p>They will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and charismatic champion for APSE Energy. They must be able to absorb information quickly and present it clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. They will be able to network and build long term relationships with a variety of stakeholders, understand their requirements and translate them into the support offered by APSE Energy.</p>\n<p>This is an excellent opportunity to build a career with a growing organisation, to develop expertise within the dynamic fields of energy and climate change and to gain experience of the local government sector.</p>\n<p>The Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) is owned by its members (local authorities) and working on their behalf, maintains and develops a network of local government officers and councillors from local authorities across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.</p>\n<p>APSE Energy is part of the APSE family and is a local authority energy collaboration supporting those local authorities who are aiming to meet our vision of ‘the municipalisation of energy’ with a greater role for councils across the energy agenda in their local area. Over 130 councils have signed up to the collaboration.
