Based at the Vehicle Maintenance Unit at the White Lund Depot you will be working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a shift pattern basis. Current shift patterns are Monday to Thursday 07:00-15:00 and 08:30-16:30 and Friday 07:00-14:30 and 08:30-16:00. Shift patterns may be adjusted in the future in accordance with the working practices and requirements of the service. You will also be required to provide out of hours vehicle breakdown cover, which will include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, on a shift rota basis.</p>\n<p><strong>What you need to succeed</strong></p>\n<p>For this role, it is desirable you have a NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent). Ideally you should have previous experience in a similar role and experience of vehicle electrics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be desirable. You must be a creative thinker who can deliver at a pace and think outside the box.</p>\n<p>You must be able to work on a shift rota basis, if necessary, in accordance with the needs of the service.</p>\n<p>You may be required to undertake Standby duties to cover out of hours work. </p>\n<p>The successful applicant will be subject to a basic clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.</p>\n<p>A full current UK driving licence is essential.
