The ICS is an innovative, award-winning, multi-disciplinary team partnering with the infrastructure sector across a range of projects. The team you will join is high performing, benefiting from strong working relationships across industry and the wider sector through the Mayor’s London Infrastructure Group. Key outputs of the team in recent years have included leading on the pioneering London Infrastructure Mapping Application, regulatory reform, and local area energy/water planning.&nbsp;
About the role
The ICS Development service line works to improve connections between development and London’s utility infrastructure networks. A key priority of the development service is to accelerate affordable housing delivery across London by addressing the strategic infrastructure challenges that can stall development. Building strong relationships with developers and utilities is a critical part of the development service’s role in unlocking strategic sites, identifying new areas of work, and supporting regulatory change.
Your focus will be on progressing strategic solutions to accelerate utility connections for development, and support the delivery of utility infrastructure in high-growth areas. You will work with teams across the GLA’s to support better alignment and delivery of development and utility infrastructure. This will also involve working closely with developers, utilities, London boroughs, Transport for London, regulators and business community representatives to understand their technical challenges and thinking creatively to resolve them.
The right candidate will be able to engage with technically complex issues, articulating concepts and solutions to a wide range of audiences. You will feel confident in taking responsibility for a set of projects and their outcomes. Although a technical background is not expected, an ideal candidate would have a degree or work experience related to infrastructure. The role would benefit from someone who proactively looks for opportunities to champion sustainability and better ways of working.

What your day will look like
Identifying the need for, devising and developing effective strategies and interventions to support the acceleration of utility connections for strategic development in London.
Establishing and developing relationships on technical and delivery matters relating to the built environment and utility infrastructure with key stakeholders including the development industry, regulators, Government departments, the London boroughs, functional bodies, infrastructure networks and other organisations.
Sourcing, selecting, appointing and managing consultants and contractors to carry out relevant work in accordance with relevant public procurement and GLA procedures, policies and Code of Ethics and Standards and ensure delivery within the allocated budget to time and quality.
Leading on the development of new work areas associated with the emerging London Infrastructure Framework and other mayoral strategies relating to utility connections, resilience, and development including undertaking research, analysis, option appraisals, knowledge sharing and consultation.
Taking responsibility for strategic horizon scanning and maintaining up-to-date awareness of infrastructure delivery challenges facing London and innovation opportunities, as well as legislative, technical and policy changes in relation to infrastructure and the built environment.

GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.

The London Assembly scrutinises the Mayor's activities by questioning the Mayor about their decisions. The Assembly also investigates issues of importance to London.
There are 25 Assembly Members, elected every four years at the same time as the Mayor. The Secretariat works for the Assembly to support its activities.
<h2>About the team and role</h2>
The Liberal Democrat Group scrutinises the work of the Mayor across the policy areas of transport, housing, environment, policing, health, the economy, planning and regeneration, fire and emergency planning, and the Mayor’s multi-billion pound budget. Applications are invited from candidates with extensive press and media experience in a busy office and of working for elected representatives or similar high profile public individuals.
Your role will involve working closely with the team’s Senior Researcher who leads on communications and the two Research and Support Officers, including setting and co-ordinating the day-to-day work of the team. You will need to liaise with external stakeholders to ensure that the work of the group is represented and promoted through a variety of media, both proactively and reactively promoting the work of the Assembly Members.&nbsp; An in-depth knowledge and understanding of a variety of media is vital.
You will work across the full range of policy areas and produce policy briefings and issues papers to be communicated internally and externally. This role works closely with the team and two elected politicians in a dynamic, friendly environment.&nbsp; The work is fast moving and varied.
<h2>What your day will look like</h2>
<ul>
<li>Producing media monitoring reports for Assembly Members;</li>
<li>Writing briefings for Assembly Members on upcoming Committee meetings, interviews and events;</li>
<li>Responding to media and press enquiries to promote the work of the group.</li>

<h2>Skills, knowledge and experience</h2>
To be considered for the role you must meet the following essential criteria:

<li>Experience of working with elected politicians and/or senior officers: Developing rapport and working effectively with a diverse range of people, sharing knowledge and skills to deliver shared goals;</li>
<li>Knowledge and understanding of media handling techniques, including strategies, including designing and delivering an effective communications plan for an elected politician;</li>
<li>Experience of responding to media / press enquiries, and using a variety of media to generate coverage;</li>
<li>Demonstrable research skills, to enable quick and effective grasp of information from a range of sources on a wide range of policy topics, and proven experience of policy briefing in a political/ public sector organisation.</li>
<li>Organisational awareness: Understanding and being sensitive to organisational dynamics, culture and politics across and beyond the GLA and shaping our approach accordingly.</li>

Operational Duties &amp; Accountabilities

Manage and support the Planned Works Surveyors in their activities to project manage capital investment projects including warm home grant funded investment schemes attending operational and strategic meetings.
Undertake and manage the more complex and involved capital investment and planned works projects from project inception delivery through to final accounts.
Complete regular cost analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to drive service improvement and scrutiny of Planned Maintenance and works to demonstrate appropriate budget control.

The UK is recognised as having one of the best intellectual property (IP) enforcement regimes in the world to tackle IP crime and infringement. The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has a five-year IP Infringement Strategy which will ensure the UK remains at the forefront of tackling IP crime and infringement at home and abroad. Within that strategy is a commitment to develop an IP Crime Centre of Excellence for intelligence coordination. The coordinator network is central to this ambition, linking our Intelligence Team with the wider law enforcement community.
Law enforcement partners, such as Trading Standards are and will continue to be a key player in tackling IP crime and infringement and we would like proactive and enthusiastic people to play a part in this. The successful candidate will work closely with Trading Standards, Police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure the threat of IP crime is recognised and understood, they have the support required to coordinate a response and can access knowledge and advice. They will also work closely with the IPO’s Intelligence Team on Intelligence collection, developing investigations and disseminating cases to law enforcement for adoption.
Additional Information The coordinator role will focus on supporting Trading Standards regions of South-East England, London and East England.
The role advertised will be carried out remotely within the nominated regions based in and around the South/Southeast of England, although attendance at IPO offices in Newport, South Wales will be required a minimum of once per quarter.

This is a busy, demanding but exciting role, which will join our existing team of five coordinators covering all other UK nations and internationally. The successful candidate will be a true champion for intellectual property rights and robust enforcement of criminal infringement. You will work closely with partners to help them understand, investigate and coordinate enforcement activity, as well as being a crucial partner in supporting success of the IPO’s Intelligence Gateway, by bringing in intelligence, liaising with partners and working with them on the adoption of IPO developed investigations.
Given the nature of the role, the ideal candidate will come with a law enforcement or brand protection background. Finally, you’ll also play a key part in the success of the Intelligence Partnerships Team. A key focus of the ICS is deploying the dig-once approach to streetworks—where utilities, telecoms, boroughs and others reduce disruption across London by digging up the road, together. This is a major shift as we transition to making this way of working ‘Business As Usual,’ thereby improving air quality and well-being for Londoners.
Your focus will be on managing a portfolio of collaborative streetworks projects, making use of strong project management, organisational and communication skills to take collaborative streetworks projects from ‘start to finish’, and reporting on them to management, funders and stakeholders within industry. This is a critical delivery role within a fast-moving team, with high levels of external engagement, especially with utilities, contractors and highway authorities. The right candidate will be able to manage an evolving pipeline of projects, by laying out a plan, proactively engaging stakeholders, and overcoming delivery roadblocks with problem solving and sensitive, persuasive communication. Project reporting to internal and external stakeholders, ie communications, governance and record keeping are also critical components in the day-to-day delivery of the Streets programme.

You will often be working alone and therefore need to be able to work on your own initiative and be self motivated to organise your own time effectively.&nbsp;
You will need to be proactive in your daily activities and have a good understanding of safe working practices. Practical Health and Safety experience is essential.
You must hold a full, clean manual driving licence (L&amp;Q operates a manual Fleet) and it’s essential that you have access to secure overnight parking if issued a company vehicle.&nbsp; L&amp;Q does not provide resident permits.
*The 35 Hour week begins when drivers arrive at site and ends when they leave. As with normal employment practice, staff are not paid to travel to work. Specific hours of working will be discussed at the interview.

Operational Duties &amp; Accountabilities
You will&nbsp;support the Regulatory Compliance Manager in the success of Fire Compliance creating excellent partnerships, lead the fire compliance strategy and provide professional technical support expertise in fire safety.
- We need an enthusiastic, driven individual to manage the Fire Compliance in line with current regulations and council policy, &nbsp;delivering &nbsp;responsive, cyclical, and planned maintenance.
- Ensure that all homes and common areas meet required regulatory standards and internal policies adhered to, ensuring the safety of our tenants and members of the public, through the planning control and delivery of periodic testing, servicing, maintenance, and upgrade programmes of work
- You will be responsible for all aspects of contract management and administration including day to day oversight of work in progress, managing the relevant compliance contracts appropriately, meeting regularly with contractors to ensure they complete works to a high quality and deliver a cost-effective service, on time, including full budgetary oversight.
- Line Manage the Compliance Officer (Fire) &nbsp;to oversee contract administration or work orders for cyclical inspections and remedial or upgrade works. Supporting them to lead on the FRA’s,&nbsp; Fire Door Inspections and communal fire safety works, and complete actions as required.
- Identify and document both current and potential strategic and operational fire risks, review fire strategies, policies and processes to reduce, or eliminate risks and contribute to the service development plan providing innovative solutions to continually improve our services
- Plan and manage project works that arise from Fire Risk Assessments including fire door replacements programmes and compartmental projects both in Senior Living Scheme, communal areas and general housing stock.
This role is a Fixed Term contract for 18 months.

Positive Change Service – the domestic abuse intervention service for LBTH Children’s Social Care – is seeking a permanent Lead Safety Worker to work with perpetrators of domestic abuse. This post is specified for a male worker as per an occupational requirement to enable us to use mix-gender co-facilitators in our groupwork with fathers.Positive Change Service delivers psycho-educational interventions with perpetrators, survivors and children impacted by domestic abuse. We are a creative, supportive and motivated team, working for systems change alongside personal change, to improve the lives of families in Tower Hamlets. The service is part of the Children’s Social Care, MASH and Assessment &amp; Intervention Service. We are currently looking for staff who are experienced in working with perpetrators, survivors and their children impacted on domestic abuse.The role of the Lead Safety Worker includes service coordination, direct client work (leading on both group and individual work), liaising with other stakeholders such as referrers, contributing to the strategic direction of the Positive Change Service and mentoring students in placements.Our usual work with clients runs for around 6 months to a year.&nbsp;The work may involve a combination of assessment, groupwork, individual work and even co-parenting work between (ex)-partners.&nbsp;All of the work is aimed at increasing the safety of children and adult survivors of domestic abuse.&nbsp;Working hours include one evening per week (currently a Monday evening until 9pm).We are a self-reflective team, providing a strong level of clinical supervision, training and development.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are seeking a Lead Safety Worker with substantial experience in delivering domestic abuse interventions and in working with parents towards children’s safety. Human rights is central to practice and the service includes the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and management of this statutory area.Integrated Discharge ServiceThe Integrated Discharge Service assesses Hackney residents, whilst in hospital across all London Hospitals and beyond, for the most appropriate and safe discharge destination and care and support plan. We focus on safe discharges that respect the legal rights and expressed wishes of all individuals. The team works in partnership with the multi-disciplinary teams within hospitals and attends multi-disciplinary meetings on their aligned wards. The service is inclusive to those in acute settings who are assessed as having a learning disability, mental health diagnosis, or dementia. It also supports residents with no recourse to public funds who have eligible care and support needs. The service operates seven days a week, and staff are invited to contribute to weekend working if they so wish. Community Reviews are completed collaboratively with the resident, family members, carers, and other involved professionals, to ensure that their long-term care and support needs are assessed and that any newly arising concerns or needs are addressed.We are a team of Social workers, Senior Social workers, Senior OT and occupational therapists and Review Officers.Access &amp; DutyThe Access and Duty Team serves as the initial point of contact for adults in Hackney who require intervention, advice and signposting from Adult Social Care. Our primary responsibilities include screening all incoming referrals and correspondence. We also respond to critical needs, risks, and emergencies for open cases, including unplanned reviews. The social workers and review officers undertake Care Act assessments for new referrals that have been screened and identified as requiring a Care Act assessment.
