Due to the increase of pupil numbers at our school, the governors and Headteacher at Grange Community Nursery and Primary School would like to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and inspirational team. An opportunity has arisen within Sefton Council for a casual leisure attendant post based at Bootle Leisure Centre, to work in the role of a lifeguard.
You are required to hold a full - current lifeguarding certificate and will be expected to provide poolside as well as dry-side area supervision. You will be required to work as part of a team, ensuring customer safety and high standards of service and customer care at all times.&nbsp; This role requires constant supervision of the poolside; you will need to be fully focused with the ability to remain vigilant, alert, and attentive at all times.&nbsp; This position also involves the setting up of equipment to meet the needs of the programmed activities and to undertake cleaning tasks to ensure the centre is well presented to the highest standard.&nbsp;
Ideal candidates will need to be available to work throughout the summer holiday period June to September inclusive.
Candidates will have a friendly and approachable manner to always maintain a high level of customer service.&nbsp; Candidates must attend monthly training sessions to demonstrate competency and maintain a valid qualification.
Qualifications
It is essential you have a current Royal Lifesaving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. A first aid at work qualification, AED and pool plant operator’s certificate are also desirable.

In order to ensure continuity for our visitors we require a one-year minimum commitment from our LVs, as well as three months’ notice of intention to leave.
No experience or qualifications are necessary – we provide full training in active listening.&nbsp; We look for warmth, empathy and resilience in our volunteers and the ability to be non-judgemental and avoid giving advice.

We are looking for volunteers who have the empathy to greet distressed visitors, the willingness to undertake a variety of admin and other tasks and the resilience to support their team.&nbsp; Our HVs need to be proactive, self-starters and team players with a basic understanding of IT.
