The Post
To provide administrative support to the specialist teams within the SEND Outreach Service.
This will involve minute taking at meetings, updating systems and folders and acting as the first point of contact within the relevant teams, maintaining professional communications with internal and external customers and partners by taking responsibility for all email/post/telephone queries and handling them as appropriate, and taking ownership of the business support needs of the allocated service area and have expert knowledge of their business processes.
The Person
You will be joining the well-established SEND Outreach Service. We are passionate about the work we do with children and the support provided to the children and their families. You will also join us in having a close working relationship with families and settings.

This role makes positive contributions to the services that Brent provides for children and young people with SEND. The ideal candidate will be resilient and solution focused, have strong communication skills effectively (oral and written). Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manners, and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners are all equally important. The successful candidate must be highly organised, be able to manage their workload and maintain attention to detail. The successful candidate will have good IT skills and have the ability to use computer systems concurrently, as well as the ability to work on their own initiative and take a proactive approach. Basic minute taking experience is desirable as the role provides efficient and professional day to day support to the administrative needs of the service and the Children and Young People and Community Development department.&nbsp;

The Role&nbsp;

The Content Design team are a small team of passionate content designers, working on the council’s digital services.
The Content Design team sit in the Digital Change and Service Improvement team. We are a cross-disciplinary team with a passion for improving council services through digital change.
The team includes developers, business analysts and a GIS and Data Officer. They are united by a shared purpose of creating great digital experiences.

About the Role
As a Project Officer in our Buildings, Structural, Civils &amp; Marine division, you will play a key role in supporting the Principal Officer and Senior Officers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across the Merseytravel estate. Working within a dynamic matrix structure, you will help coordinate the delivery of projects for both existing and refurbished assets, whilst drawing on the expertise of our internal teams and, where needed, external partners.
In this role, you will assist in managing suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard - helping us meet and exceed client expectations. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure that keeps our community moving.
About the person
The Project Officer should have a relevant HNC / NVQ or equivalent qualification, or experience of estate maintenance in a multi-disciplinary environment while ensuring the safe, reliable operation and utilisation of the estate. The role requires an understanding of the Health and Safety duties required for running large commercial building / construction contracts and be conversant with environmental legislation and codes of practice. The Project Officer should have basic knowledge of industry specific contracts and their relevance and suitability to building and construction projects, be commercially aware and must possess the ability to negotiate and deliver commercial contracts. The candidate must be computer literate with a high degree of ICT skills, have a flexible approach to work and have excellent communication skills.

About the Role

An opportunity has become available to join a team dedicated to delivering a high level of customer service at parks’ facilities across the borough.
This post is for casual hours only to help cover vacant shifts and will vary each week from 0 hours up to 16 hours. The role would suit someone with other commitments who enjoys working outside and is looking for some extra income.&nbsp; You&nbsp;must&nbsp;have a driving licence (manual) to be considered.
Your duties will include unlocking and locking of parks, regular patrols and helping to maintain a safe environment for visitors. You will be highly visible and proactively engage with members of the public, event organisers, community groups and sports teams.
In addition to these duties, you may assist with the day-to-day operation of seasonal facilities including the Stoke Park Visitor Point, paddling pool and Chantry Wood campsite.&nbsp; Training will be provided.
With excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly and enthusiastic manner, you will be able to interact with members of the public in a tactful and diplomatic way. You will be flexible and reliable with the ability to work alone and prioritise workloads. You will be required to keep written records and ensure that administrative tasks are completed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
To be successful as a Park Ranger, candidates should be professional, polite, and committed to delivering a high level of customer service. You must feel confident to challenge the misuse of facilities, complete general administration tasks and have good time management skills with the ability to work to fluctuating demands.&nbsp;

This role is within the Asset Management Department, reporting to the Senior Building Manager.
You will be working in Building Services Team and will be involved in the organisation and supervision of Knowle Green FM Officers to ensure effective and smooth operation of Knowle Green Council Offices.
You will support the Council in ensuring that building maintenance and facilities management (FM) meet detail of the required service delivery in terms of compliance, responsiveness, quality of service and workmanship. The role will have responsibility for ensuring that the Council meet its statutory compliance obligations in all areas including gas safety, water safety, asbestos, electrical safety, fire safety and lift/LOLER requirements.
You will be responsible for the preparation of monthly performance reports, extracting data and monitoring trends, particular around compliance, ensuring information is shared across Building Services Team using the data to identify when compliance tests/inspections are required for municipal properties. It’s an exciting time to join the Community Wellbeing team within Spelthorne. We developed and built temporary accommodation for families, and purpose built supported accommodation for single homeless residents and continue to look for opportunities for permanent and temporary housing solutions. We have just launched our ambitious Homelessness &amp; Rough Sleeping Strategy 2025-2030 which aims to end the use of bed and breakfast accommodation, promote independence and wellbeing, and maximise the use of the private rented sector for homelessness prevention and relief. We are working closely with partners to deliver innovative and appropriate options to facilitate discharge from hospital and prevent admissions.
In addition to all this, the Council is embarking on an ambitious housing delivery programme to meet the housing needs of local residents, including a significant proportion of affordable homes.
To support this work, we are looking for a new Strategic Lead for Housing. A large part of the role is to proactively engage with internal colleagues and external partners to enable affordable housing delivery. You will develop and lead the Council’s effective partnerships with Registered Providers and Homes England, as well as representing the housing service on internal development working groups in order to achieve this.
Together with your solid understanding of the economic and social issues that affect housing supply and demand locally, you will have a proven track record and significant experience in strategy policy and preparation. You will be an expert in housing and homelessness legislation as you will need to translate guidance, best practice, and case law into understandable and workable solutions.
You will be comfortable working with numbers and data in spreadsheets and databases and be able to translate the same into plain English for a variety of audiences. You will be able to use this data to not only drive business cases and funding bids, which will see new services commissioned in line with the Council’s strategic aims, but also to contract manage existing services. To do this effectively, you will need excellent ICT skills.
You will lead a small but effective team which you will be expected to coach and support. You will also support the Team Manager, Housing Options to ensure the Council’s statutory homelessness service is run according to legislation, statutory guidance, case law and best practice.

This post is identified as a hybrid post supporting both office and home working in line with Spelthorne Borough Council’s policy. The post holder will be required to attend the office in line with a rota and any service requirements. To work from home you will be required to have a suitable environment from which to work and have broadband internet available for work use.
