<p>You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive, customer-focused housing service to FHDC tenants living in Independent Living (sheltered housing) schemes.&nbsp;<br>The Independent Living Team delivers intensive housing management to older and vulnerable tenants so that they can sustain their tenancies and live in a safe environment. Key duties include signing up new tenants into their homes, dealing with reports of anti-social behaviour, tenancy management, dealing with residents’ queries, carrying out scheme surgeries and meetings, carrying out an annual wellbeing plan with all tenants, assessing the suitability of applicants for Independent Living accommodation, and ensuring the safety of the schemes you manage is maintained through weekly scheme inspections, with fire safety of the utmost importance.&nbsp;<br><br>The post involves working closely with other Neighbourhoods staff, internal and external partners including the council’s Community Safety Unit, social services, Kent Police and Police Community Support Officers plus Kent County Council Wardens.&nbsp;<br>We are looking for someone who can demonstrate that they are committed to excellent customer service and who understands the complex issues that can arise in social housing. <p>Our Private Sector Housing team seeks to improve the conditions and management standards of private sector housing.</p>
<p>You’ll assist the team in achieving this by leading on the changes brought in by the Renters Rights Act to the delivery of housing enforcement standards, ensuring private sector residential accommodation throughout the District meets statutory standards and helping to bring about improvements in conditions and standards of management for residents.</p>
<p>You will deliver service improvements by developing new working processes and building relationships with partners to meet the requirements of the Renters Rights Act.</p>
<p>You’ll be responsible for assessing a variety of properties using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and interpreting the results of these assessments to determine an appropriate course of action to deal with each hazard identified.</p>
<p>You will investigate complaints regarding housing conditions and undertake detailed surveys and inspections of residential accommodation throughout the District.</p>

<p><strong>About You</strong><br>You will need to be qualified and experienced in dealing with environmental health or housing matters and have a sound working knowledge of the relevant Housing legislation regarding harassment, illegal eviction and landlord/tenant disputes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Are you up for a challenge? We are looking for an enthusiastic, IT literate, motivated individual to work as a Housing Scheme Officer within our Housing Scheme &amp; Finance team.</p>
<p>This is an exciting opportunity, working in a specialist intensive housing management team which is responsible for delivering a comprehensive customer centred enhanced housing management support service through its day to day management of Dartford Borough Council’s sheltered properties for older people. Please note that this is a remote worker role, based in and around Dartford’s sheltered housing schemes, and so efficient use of your time is essential to successfully achieve the many and varied tasks you will be responsible for throughout the day.</p>
<p>Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, as is an in-depth understanding of safeguarding issues, but full training will be provided to the successful applicant.&nbsp; Other key duties include signposting tenants to support services and helping tenants to maintain their independence.&nbsp; Managing low level anti-social behaviour from a variety of sources (not just the occupants of the building) is also an essential part of this role, as well as undertaking property management inspections and assisting with rent arrears recovery. <h4>About the role</h4><h4>Role Summary</h4><p>The Housing Support Worker is responsible for the delivery of the Wellbeing Service (24-hour emergency response service) during their contracted hours and the evening events and activities programme.
