The Role:
This is an exciting time to join our finance team at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Under new leadership, we are looking to build a world-class finance team to support all our services navigate the challenging financial environment in which local authorities operate. With the lowest Council Tax of any unitary authority outside of London we have a record of delivering efficiently. This role will report directly to the Exchequer Services Manager and will provide day to day operational support within the team to ensure that all processes are in place and accurate records are maintained.
Your role will include:

<li>Monitor and manage the mailbox, ensuring all invoices and payment requests are downloaded, indexed and recorded accurately and promptly to avoid delays in meeting payment deadlines.</li>
<li>Ensure all supplier invoices are registered in accordance with the Council’s payment policy supporting the statutory requirement to pay within 30 days.</li>
<li>Process journals prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy and proper coding in line with internal financial controls.</li>
<li>Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies by liaising with relevant departments and suppliers, ensuring accurate and authorised payments are processed.</li>
<li>Maintain regular communication with colleagues across all directorates, as well as with external suppliers to support the timely resolution of invoice or payment related queries.</li>
<li>Reconcile supplier statements regularly, following up on outstanding items and discrepancies to maintain accurate ledger balances.</li>
<li>Contribute to the development and improvement of the Team’s internal administrative procedures by identifying problems and possible solutions.</li>
<li>Provide ad hoc support to the team as required.</li>

We have an exciting opportunity available for an Active Travel Officer (Cycle Training/Schools) to join the My Journey team in a permanent, part-time role supporting the programme objectives to fulfil the borough’s needs for cycle training with all ages, in schools and communities, including management of our Bikeability cycle training programme.

Other duties and responsibilities:

<li>Assisting schools in achieving the national Modeshift accreditation with organising, promoting, supporting and delivering cycle training and related activities such as leading bike rides and organising/delivering safer cycling talks and workshops eg Dr Bike in schools and bike maintenance in the community, all enabling children and adults to gain skills and confidence to travel more sustainably and safely.</li>
<li>Leading weekly Balance Bike Clubs (age 2-4 years) and Learn to Ride sessions (age 5–10 years).</li>
<li>Supporting the My Journey team at events (including programme monitoring) to promote cycling and active travel and the wider benefits of sustainable travel on climate change, air quality and health and well-being with internal and external partnership working.&nbsp;</li>

Key Responsibilities include:

About you
We are looking for someone who wants to broaden or utilise their experience within Compliance, Audit and Safety, to support the organisation to ensure safety for all. You will have:

<li>Previous experience in complaints and incident handling, safeguarding, data protection, and audits</li>
<li>Previous experience in governance systems and structures which could include auditing, risk management, investigations, and report writing</li>
<li>Previous experience in managing quality standards</li>
<li>Working knowledge of health and safety processes and procedures</li>
<li>IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, and ability to confidently use and utilise Microsoft programs</li>
<li>Ability to write reports in a clear, readable format</li>

About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on senior infrastructure and security manager to lead and manage Breast Cancer Now’s IT infrastructure and security operations. This is a delivery focused role where you’ll take responsibility for building, configuring and maintaining infrastructure while also implementing and managing security governance controls. You’ll ensure our systems are resilient, secure and aligned with frameworks such as Cyber Essentials Plus and NCSC guidance. Brent EPs work to a flexible model of service delivery that is rooted in consultation and the use of a wide range of tools and techniques to support our children, young people, schools, and parent/carers. Our EBSA project created a Practice Framework for schools. &nbsp;Last year, the EPS set up and now leads on a multi-agency panel that makes decisions about support for children who are unable to attend school on mental health grounds. &nbsp;There is an ongoing programme of training for EBSA and other key topics, including Precision Teaching, ADHD in the Classroom and Literacy Support. &nbsp;There is dedicated EP support to our colleagues in the Brent Virtual School.&nbsp;
